-After doing our class routines , I invite my students to a warm up activity ( throw the ball say an adjective of personality, catch the ball & give another adjective ) until most of the students take part in the game.


At this stage , I ask learners about their favorite English TV shows  
Then I pin this picture and give them few seconds to think about and express their ideas. 
Who are the characters?
What’s the relation between them?
What is Harry Potter?
Do you like it? Can you tell me something about it ? Characters, number of series…..

 

Now , let’s listen to some American schoolchildren  interviewing the British  author of the Harry Potter fantasy (Joanne Rowling) and do the next task to find out more about this writer.

First listening ; Listening for gist
Task 1 Say if the statement is true or false
-J Rowling was a teacher before she became a writer.__true
-When Rowling was a child she told her teachers about her dream career ----- false

Dr. Rowling chose Professor Lupin as her ideal teacher for 3 reasons. Tick the right ones

7- Because his lessons are interesting

Correction & feedback 

Task 3 fill in Dr. J Rowling ID card (p 33) and then write a short paragraph about her.

Eg

Dr.J Rowling is a 50 years-old British writer. She used to be a teacher before she became a famous writer of the best seller series (Harry Potter).When she was a schoolgirl, she wanted to be a writer. Professor Lupin is her ideal teacher because he’s kind, clever and gives interesting lessons


Now it’s your turn to tell us about your ideal teacher.

-What’s his/her name?
-What subject does s/he teach?
-Why is s/he your ideal teacher? ( characters, methods of teaching, impact on students…) 



Let me tell you something about my ideal teacher.
Mrs……….is my best one . She teaches us English . None feels bored in her classes. She’s very unique personality. She’s elegant, smart, punctual , kind and never gets angry . She treats us as her friends ,helps us and supports us . I admire her for her energy, knowledge ,passion for teaching and caring attitude . I’m thankful to her for improving my English skills.


Learners read their presentations in front of their classmates. 
Feedback is highly recommended at this stage 

Write a letter to your favorite primary school teacher telling him/her how much you love& respect him/her. Give reasons for being thankful to him /her
